Who We Are?

The Greater Gadsden Housing Authority (GGHA) is a public housing agency incorporated under State Law in 1936.

GGHA is a quasi-governmental entity governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor.

The Board is responsible for establishing policies and hiring an Executive Director to manage operations.

GGHA has multiple contracts with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to manage and operate its low rent public housing program and administer its Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8).

GGHA operates 974 units of public housing on six sites. Additionally, GGHA administers a Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) which consists of approximately 112 vouchers.
